Who could have predicted it? Vintage blankets repurposed as cloaks, hitting it big on the streets of New York (and with Meryl Streep at the premier of Iron Lady in London).
NYC-based designer Lindsey Thornburg grew up in the west (she was born in Montana and raised in Aspen) surrounded by Pendleton blankets. In 2006, she made her first cape from a vintage Pendleton blanket given to her by her grandfather—unwittingly launching the cult of the cloak. N.B.: Thornburg recently opened a shop on the Lower East side of Manhattan; for details, visit Lindsey Thornburg.
