Steal This Look: Design Ideas from Table on Ten

Earlier this week we visited Table on Ten in upstate New York: a humble café founded by a young couple (a carpenter and Dutch model turned chef); housed in a renovated 1860's building. The most remarkable element of Table on Ten? Spare but clever decor, an overall DIY vibe, and a dash of honest charm. Here are some ideas to steal from the interior.

Photography by Matthew Williams.

Large Terry Cloth Pot Holders

Slate Chalkboard

Above: A vintage chalkboard serves as signage for the unisex bath; for something similar, consider the Slate Chalkboard for $18 at Letterbox & Co.

Sockerart Vase from Ikea

Above: A framed page torn from a book; a white ceramic pitcher displays gladiolas, a sunflower, poppy, and solidago. See our post 10 Easy Pieces: Classic White Ceramic Pitchers. Our favorite budget option is the white enamel Sockerart Vase from Ikea ($19.99).

Ephemera Clip

Above: A garland of dried herbs and wild garlic above chalkboard plans for a pizza oven; we like the iron Ephemera Clip designed by Sibella Court for Anthropologie.
